Providing Hope for the ElderlyJune 3, 2007 Florida Times-UnionMari Terbrueggen spent 10 years finishing college so she could change things. She knows the people who turn to her for help now don't have that same kind of time. Terbrueggen is president of Senior Life Foundation, a ray of hope for elderly residents who need one-time assistance in paying a bill or getting a repair so they can remain in their own homes. "We get calls from ladies and men in their 90s on oxygen who can't pay their electric bill - very, very serious situations" Terbrueggen said. "Being on a three-month waiting list wasn't going to solve their problem." So she and a dedicated executive board of 15 have become misers so every penny donated can go directly to those who need it.
